Sorry it took a while, but here’s a pic of my little guy.
As of his 2 week check-up, he’s 8 lbs 12 oz, a whole 25 oz over what he was when we were discharged from the hospital!!
We’re doing well here. A little sleep deprived, but nothing too bad. Of course, this upcoming week will be my first week at home alone. Could get….interesting!

Miles Keith was born April 15 2008 at 12:45pm. He was 2 weeks early and I was starting to think that maybe he’d never come and I’d be taking him to kindergarten while still inside of me.
After 30 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing he was delivered by c-section. He’s perfect, 10 fingers, 10 toes, a head full of dark brown hair. He’s a great eater and sleeper already and the biggest problem his mommy and daddy seem to have is arguing over who gets to hold him.
Miles had to spend some time under the tanning lights in the hospital due to jaundice and I’ve had some c-section complications but things are still going pretty well.
Here’s a picture of my new little guy. I hope you all understand why I might not be around as much as I used to.
Update: OK, I’m trying to post a picture but I’m having some technical difficulties. I’ll have one up as soon as I can.

With a baby due in a little more than a month (or if I’ get my way, way less than a month) my mind has turned to nesting.
But not normal nesting like cleaning my house or anything like that.
No, I’m using my nesting energy to make sure my cyber world is all clean and sparkly. I’ve spent more time online in the past week or so than I have in the previous 6 months combined, I think.
I’ve also apparently decided that once the baby comes I will never ever read another book as long as I live. I’ve become a regular at my local library and am going through 6 books every 2 weeks.
But my house? Still a mess.
*Sigh*

I’m thinking it may be time to get back into writing.
The problem is, it’s not necessarily because I want to, or because I have great story ideas or anything like that. I may be getting back into writing because at the moment my desk chair is the most comfortable place for me to sit.
The nice (expensive) new couches? Eh, I can make it through an evening sitting there but then struggle to get up. The old couches? Also okay but not for long term. Heck, even the bed isn’t very comfortable these days.
And honestly, at the moment I have no idea how I used to waste days playing online, ’cause now that I actually have days to waste playing online, it’s really not that much fun.
So, since I’m sitting at my desk, in my deskchair, my computer in front of me, the only logical thing to do seems to be to write.
Anybody got an extra plot lying around?

Right…so I’m not doing so well on that “getting back into the swing of things” thing.
I’m trying through. Really. And I’m hoping it’ll get a little bit easier as my desk chair is currently one of the most comfortable places for me to sit. Though it is hard to type out any coherent thoughts when I have to get up and use the bathroom every five minutes.
*Sigh*
I’m just glad we bought a house with a powder room on the first floor. The idea of going up the stairs every time I have to…go…makes me want to cry.
Anyway, I’m really going to try to get back into the swing of blogging (and this time, I mean it). I’m even starting to read other blogs again, though I admit, I haven’t been commenting.
It’s hard to blog though, cause this was meant as a professional writing blog, but right now my life seems to be all baby-to-be, all the time.
*Another sigh*

Wow, October was a long time ago. A really long time ago.
What have I been up to, you may be wondering? Well, a lot as it turns out.
I slept through most of September and October, and even a fair bit of November. Why? Turns out I’m pregnant!!
So, we realized that this kid is going to need a place to live, so I had to pull myself off the couch and start house hunting. We found a place fairly quickly but then had to pack up the old place in order to move to the new place.
I hosted Thanksgiving for 8 at the old place and then immediately started packing to be moved into the new place in time to have 15 for Christmas!!
I did it, and then proceeded to sleep through most of January, too.
The house is now coming together (complete with nursery for our little boy who should make his debut at the end of April), I’ve got a bit more energy and am not trying to get back into the swing of things (albeit with some extra bathroom and snack breaks).
So, what’ve you been up to for the past 5 months?

Oops - I know I was supposed to post this last Thursday but I accidentally clicked Save instead of Publish. Sorry.
I don’t have very many pictures of Montreal and Quebec but here are a few.
This is a cool old building in Montral - it was the parliment building or something like that (sorry, it’s been a long time since the trip).

This is Chateau Frontanac in Quebec - a cool old building. It was being refurbished which you can probably see in the pictures. Our hotel was right next door but not nearly as oppulent.

Like I said, not many pictures from Montreal and Quebec. I’ll try to have more from the rest of the trip in the next few days. (I’m I’m not an idiot and actually publish the posts I write).

I realize I haven’t posted much in the past few days. Mostly because I don’t have anything to say.
Now that’s odd because I realize for the last few years that I’ve had this blog I haven’t really had anything to say yet it’s never stopped me before.
I’ve been busy, but noot with anything worth mentioning, really.
How boring am I?
Hey, I never posted pictures from the second half of my trip, did I? Well, come back over the next few days and I’ll post some!!
