Tempting Fate

Fate Clothos Moirai, Chloe, is tired of spending all her time on Mount Olympus. She's ready for a vacation to the one place she's never been, Earth.

Excerpt

Tanner woke to a pounding in his head.

Damn, he didn't think he'd had that much to drink last night. He squinted his eyes against the harsh rays of the morning sun. Much to his chagrin, the pounding didn't stop.

"Hello?"

The pounding was joined by the most melodic voice he'd ever heard.

While the rest of him wanted to stay in bed for the rest of the day, one part of him was awake now. And if a simple voice could do that, he most definitely wanted to see the rest of the package.

Stumbling out of bed, he cursed loudly when he stubbed his toe on the chair where he'd thrown his clothes the previous evening. He picked up his well-worn jeans and struggled into them as he made his way down the long hall.

The knocking continued.

"God damn it, I'll be right there."

He wrenched open the door, wincing when it came into contact with the soft plaster of the wall behind it.

Damn, his mother was going to have his hide for that one. It only took a second for the pain to register. His mother wouldn't have his hide for that, or any other offense again. How long was it going to take for him to remember that?

"Hello?"

He was drawn from his painful reverie by a hand waving in front of his face.

And that hand was connected to the most amazing creature he'd ever seen in his life. She was tall, only a few inches shorter than his six-four frame, though he supposed some of it came from those incredibly high heels she was wearing.

Her hair was a beautiful raven black, though for a moment there, he could have sworn he saw a swirling rainbow of colors.

Desperately, he wanted to know the color of her eyes, but they were shaded by a pair of large black sunglasses perched on her pert nose. Her lips were painted a bright cherry red.

"Are you all right?" The vision before him asked.

She did as he wished, and slid the sunglasses forward on her nose so that she could peer at him from over the black frames. Her eyes were a beautiful crystal green.

"Yeah, I'm sorry." He had to get out of this stupid drunken spell. "How can I help you?"

What a truly enjoyable read. I had goose bumps through this whole story. This was a truly beautiful, romantic, poignant, passionate story. I just cannot say enough good things about Tempting Fate or its author Emma Sinclair. I laughed, I cried, I cheered for Chloe and Tanner, and I wanted to smack Tanner a few times. I have not enjoyed myself so much while reading a book in a very long time. Thank you so much Emma Sinclair for giving me back my faith in the magical powers of books!

Chloe's sweet innocence and desire to help Tanner made this a very poignant story. While her tenacity was heartwarming Tanner's tortured soul was equally as heartbreaking. The raw and primal sexual awareness made the love scenes very hot and the surprise ending was perfect!

Tempting Fate is like a fantasy come true. Ms Sinclair has a knack for drawing you in and making you feel like you are the main character. With Clotho and Tanner both being such realistic characters with strong personalities, there are plenty of sparks to keep you turning the pages. Ms Sinclair developed both main characters in a way that suggested immediately that they were made for each other. Tempting Fate is an extremely erotic story that leaves you wanting another taste. The plot is strong enough to hold you in but doesn't detract from all the feelings that the characters are experiencing. They fall in love as well as lust which lead them on a great sexual adventure with some very realistic sex scenes along the way, goosebumps and all! I am so glad I had the chance to review such a great book as Tempting Fate and hope there will be more along the same theme.

The Road to Romance

Tempting Fate is a fantastic read that is poignant, hilarious and sexy. Tanner is such a vulnerable man because of his loss and because of how he is dealing with it. I will admit that reading about his drinking was hard at times, but with Chloe he manages to find someone who makes him want to change who he has become. Chloe is hilarious to read about as she learns about humanity and all the little things we take for granted. I really recommend Tempting Fate and can't wait for the next book in this series.
