Abby retrieved the brownie mix while Zane measured the oil and water.
Cracking some eggs into the bowl, they worked in silence until the brownies were set in the oven to bake.
Then, they headed back to the living room.
"You look really great, you know?"
Zane was the sweetest guy she'd ever met, but he'd never actually come out and given her a compliment quite like that before. Not about how she looked anyway.
"Thanks," she said, but she knew he was wrong.
Her skirt was too short and too tight for her legs and the lacy shirt she wore showed a little bit too much of her pale winter skin.
Maybe it was for the best that Roger wasn't coming. He'd probably make a crack about the way she was dressed.
"You're thinking of ways to disagree with me, aren't you?"
She shrugged her shoulders but didn't say anything. After two years as neighbors they knew an awful lot about one another.
"You've been letting Roger get to you again, haven't you?"
"No, it's just..."
"Come here."
Zane pulled her down onto the couch before moving away and settling her feet on his lap. He pulled off her pigs and threw them across the room before gracing Abby with the most amazing foot massage.
"Oh, that feels good."
His fingers were perfection. Heat radiated from his fingers, through her foot and up her legs to settle in the juncture of her thighs.
"I don't know why you let Roger make you feel bad about yourself."
"I don't," she lied.
It was quite obvious that he didn't believe her.
"So, tonight was supposed to be the night?"
It made her uncomfortable talking about sex with Zane, it always had. How could she talk sex with a walking God when it made her feel so inadequate?
She nodded.
"So, you've got some built up sexual energy?"
She shrugged her shoulders and could feel herself warming. And she didn't think it was because of the fire.
His hands had moved up from her feet, caressing her ankles and calves through her silky stockings.
The temperature in the room kept skyrocketing.
"Why don't you, you know, take the edge off."
"Myself?" She asked.
He nodded, and for a brief moment moved his hands even higher, just above her knee, but soon they returned to her ankles, calves, and oh- so-turned-on feet.
"Are you cold?"
"No," she was practically on fire. "Why?"
"You shivered."

Abby plans the perfect night right down to the expensive champagne Roger enjoys so much. Unfortunately, Mother Nature has other ideas. Roger could not make his way through the blizzard, leaving Abby one depressed lady. Until, Zane knocks on her door. He is the man every woman fantasizes about, including Abby. Zane is her neighbor and good friend. She knows there is no way he will ever consider her as anything more, but she could be wrong.

As a reader, I love anthologies because you get to sample so many
authors at once. In Winter Wishes you get a sampling of ten of today's
hottest writers.
In Baby, It's Cold Outside, Emma Sinclair gives us an enjoyable
read about two neighbors who discover something special on a stormy
winter's night. Humorous and sexy, I loved how it ended.
All in all, I really enjoyed this anthology. It had something for
everyone's sexual tastes, and all were fun reads.

Baby, It's Cold Outside is a hot and funny story, Faunication is startling in its vivid wording, and The Painted Lady shows what happens when the heroine assumes something about her man. All are humorous tales, and they'll definitely bring a smile to your face even as they make you head for the nearest fan!
The Winter Wishes anthology has everything a reader could want! Riveting, emotional stories, each with their own special element. Connections with friends, fantastic, vibrant surroundings, and blistering, hot love scenes! I definitely recommend this book to keep you company on those cold winter nights!

Winter Wishes Anthology consists of ten short stories written by some very fine authors. Winter Wishes Anthology contains some very scintillating and hot short stories that this reader have ever read. It runs the gamut from historical to contemporary to paranormal, but they all have highly erotic encounters. This was truly a fast and very enjoyable read on all levels. Winter Wishes has something for everyone!
Baby, It's Cold Outside by Emma Sinclair - Abby's plans fall through due to a blizzard. Zane, her neighbor and friend shows up instead. Abby and Zane are a sizzling hot couple. Ms. Sinclair does a great job with her story and characters especially with so few pages.
