Plain Jane Applebottom is an almost thirty-year-old virgin. There may not be an actual barrier there, but the only experience she's had came from books and a few ice cream induced fantasies. She fills her life running the bookstore left her by her father, but she dreams of a man who will appreciate her generous curves and generous heart.

Donovan "Van" Wolfe is a werewolf who doesn't like people. People lead to caring which, in his experience, can only lead to hurt. But there's something about Jane, with her innocence and skepticism, and he's determined to show her just how sexy and irresistible he finds her.

When their romantic evening is shattered by an attempt on their lives, Van and Jane run for shelter to Van's fortified home. Stranded there with Van's younger brother, Aiden, and his best friend, a beautiful vampire named Kalista, they are surrounded by danger while Aiden and Kali work desperately to discover who instigated the hit that may cost them their lives. Not knowing who to trust, they cling to each other and embark on a sexual journey that entwines them mind, body and heart.

Excerpt

By the time Van had parked and walked the six blocks to Magical Treasures he was cold and soggy. The prospect of hunting through this musty old bookstore for a book they may or may not have wasn't his idea of an entertaining evening. He'd much prefer being in bed with a willing woman.

Damn, maybe he should've gone clubbing with Aiden last night. Ah, who was he kidding. He couldn't even remember the last time he went to a club. But, if he had, at least maybe then he'd have found his release with someone other than himself.

Thinking about that naturally brought him back to the same place his thoughts had been all day -- the blonde in the mirror. How freaking pathetic was it that the best sexual experience he'd had in months had been all by himself.

Magical Treasures was easy to miss, in fact Van almost did miss it. It was set back slightly between a pizza shop and an upscale clothing store. A blue awning stuck out over the street, with scrawling writing noting the name of the store.

The words on the door said, Jane Applebottom, proprietor. Applebottom? Boy, did that girl get made fun of when she was in grade school. Of course, what kind of woman ran an old occult bookstore? The woman was probably about a hundred years old with thick glasses and a hump from bending down over books all day.

Biting the bullet, and to get out of the sopping weather, Van stepped inside. The lights were low, but hell, he was used to that. He could see almost as well in the dark as he could in the daylight.

Nothing could have prepared him for the woman standing in front of him, though.

Both of the main characters are well rounded, and totally believable. Van is a strong guy who is a bit of a lone wolf and a touch unsure of himself. Jane is a smart, sexy and beautiful woman who has never seen herself as such. They both grow and change throughout the story, which adds depth and layering to their characters. Aiden and Kali are highly visible and important secondary characters that also add an additional layer of romance. The plot is well written and moves along quickly. Although there is a climactic ending, you definitely get the impression that there could be another story to follow this one. The sex is hot and frequent between Jane and Van with a bit of light bondage, some fantasies and mild anal play to turn up the heat. In addition the sex scenes between Aiden and Kali are hot, fun and there is some steamy anal sex with these two as well. I certainly enjoyed this story and am hoping Ms. Sinclair does a sequel.

Emma Sinclair has a magical treasure with A Wolf's Eyes. Jane Applebottom would be considered a spinster in today's world, 30 years old, she considers herself on the tubby side, and she has some self esteem issues about her body. Jane inherited her dad's love of old books and when he passed on he left her Magical Treasures Bookstore. Jane has never believed in the occult even though most of her stock is on magic, witches, vampires and werewolves. Donovan "Van" Wolfe is a consultant for the paranormal world, he also owns a security firm and is a shapeshifter, his best friend Kali is a vampire. Someone is killing off shifters in the werewolf community and he has been advised to locate a book called "How to Hunt and Kill Werewolves" Kali advises him to check out a bookstore called Magical Treasures. When he does, he finds more than he bargained for. Van is stunned to realize he has seen Ms. Applebottom before and immediately puts a paw in his mouth, and worse yet the book has been sold.

A Wolf's Eyes was a real treat. Ms. Sinclair has written a story about a big, beautiful woman and a man who appreciates her in all her glory. This suspenseful tale adds tension for the two lovers. Van and Jane have feelings each has never experienced before. Van must still find who is killing the werewolves and now is after Jane. The plot was great and it looks like there may be a second edition. I can only hope!

Sweet but inexperienced except in her dreams, Jane leads a rather dull life, working in an old bookstore. She lives through her fantasies that she writes in her handmade diary and panics when she misplaces the diary. However, it is not misplaced, but turns up in the hands of a local vampire, Kali, who is best friends with Van, a local werewolf who wants nothing to do with his family or any of the paranormal elements in town. When Kali gives the diary to Van because the wolf on the cover is an exact replica of Van when in shifted form, Van and Jane share an erotic moment through the mirror in her bedroom. As they explore their attraction to each other, they face the paranormal community, who seem to be trying to kill them.

I love how this author smoothly gets her story across with splotches of humor. She was able to bring Jane to life for me to the point where I really felt I knew her and could relate to how she was feeling. Van, though alpha through and through, is the hero we all love to read about because once he falls in love, you know the heroine is in for the time of her life. However, in the story, Jane has to endure lots of stuff before she gets her HEA. Sinclair makes the journey worthwhile! I hope to read more of this author's work, as she writes with a refreshing sense of humor while at the same time not skimping on the character and story building. I definitely recommend this story to everyone.

Jane Applebottom is convinced she must be the last 30 year old virgin in Seattle. The only relief she has had is from a few ice cream induced fantasies that she writes about in her diary, gleamed from the romance books she loves to read. But, she is realistic and feels that she will just have to be content running her bookstore. Then suddenly her diary is gone, ACK. Jane thinks she has the dream of all dreams one night when she imagines a super hunk in her mirror reading her diary, and pleasuring himself.

Van is a werewolf who is content to only care about the people who are close to him, mainly his brother Aiden and their Vampire friend Kali. But, when he finds out someone is out to kill the weres in Seattle he and Kali go in search of a book his father has warned him about. Suddenly he is face to face with the woman he saw in his mirror and he thinks she is the most beautiful person he has ever seen. Jane thinks he is putting her on and when he seems interested in more than her books she decides to throw caution to the wind and go with it.

Suddenly Jane, Aiden and Van are being pursued by werewolves, Van's father seems to have gone insane and they are all trapped in Van's house. Not only that but Jane is propositioning, Van will he accept?

Oh Baby, be still me beating heart. I loved A Wolf's Eyes by Emma Sinclair. Finally a spunky heroine that is a size 18, who might just get the stud! I had to read A Wolf's Eyes in one setting as I couldn't put it down. I seriously enjoyed the writing of this author and I hope that she does follow up stories with Kali and Aiden. I recommend this story to all who like the worlds of shape shifters and not so perfect heroines.

A Wolf's Eyes is a very exciting tale by Emma Sinclair. Jane is a shy woman who is brought out of her shell by Donovan. Donovan is a little bit stiff until he falls in love with Jane. It is interesting to watch them both change for the better during the book. The sex between Jane and Donovan is hot and each scene expands Jane's sexual horizons. The mystery of who is after Donovan and Jane takes a backseat to their relationship and the main focus on the story is the couple. With wonderful secondary characters who deserve their own book, A Wolf's Eyes offers an enjoyable experience for fans of werewolf books.
