Who watched the Oscars?
Actually, I admit, I’m writing this at 7est on Sunday so they haven’t actually been on yet. But I’m about to head out the door in a few minutes to go to an Oscar party, so I’m posting now (rather than later tonight even though the post won’t show up until the Morning).
Anyway, I’ve probably seen a grand total of 5 movies in the theater this year and let me tell you, none of them were awards worthy.
So, I will be picking winners on something other than how good the movie was. Maybe how crazy the people are dressed. Maybe something else altogether.
I made my famous mint brownies for the party but I forgot to take them out of the oven. I don’t think they’re burned, and they probably taste fine, but they’re not attractive. And while they sounded great in the grocery store, I don’t know if “Lil Smokies” are really sophisticated Oscar party food.
But hopefully it’ll be fun anyway. Did you watch? How’d your favorites do?
Update Monday morning: Yeah, so I lost our Oscar poll big time with a total of 4 correct guesses (and yes, they were guesses). I totally would have kicked ass had underdogs swept the awards, though.
And I thought Ellen was hilarious. They were insanely long, but I liked it more than I have in years past. The crazy dancers that “acted out” the movies were really cool. Though the highlight of the night may have been the Will Ferrell/Jack Black musical number!
But my questions remain…how did your favorites do? What’d you think of the show?

I didn’t see the show–it’s the middle of the night over here–but I’ve just been reading about it. I’m really happy Helen Mirren got an Oscar, and Martin Scorsese, too: both overdue!
I will confess that I haven’t seen any of the big winners, although I’d quite like to see The Queen. Whenever I have seen an Oscar-nominated film, it’s always one of the minor categories like lighting, or it doesn’t win, like with Johnny Depp for POTC.
But then we all know the pretty people never win…
