Happy New Year

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

I realized I never shared a picture of my holiday baking. Here’s just some of my 15 dozen cookies.

Alas, I’m an idiot and didn’t take a picture of the fudge!

Still,

Year end clean up

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

So, I’ve decided that for New Years I’m going to delete my blogroll and start from scratch. Which means that for the moment I have no links on my blog (or very few links - I’m keeping some of the categories at the moment).

No fear, I will add you back - though it may be a bit slow in coming - but it will be eventually.

A lot of the blogs I link to have moved, and I have a lot that need to be added (and probably quite a few that need to be deleted too).

I figured it’d be easier for me to add to nothing than to go through and re-do. (Not to mention I need to update Wordpress in it’s entirety, so it’s one less thing for me to lose in updates).

I also need to do something with the links on my website. I don’t really like having tons of links, but there are so many people that I’d like to exchage links with that I need to figure out something.

Speaking of cleaning up, I’ve also got to put all this stuff away:

I’ll be away from the computer until late Monday, so Happy New Year!!

Some pictures

Friday, December 29th, 2006

I know a lot of people are still busy with the holidays, and I haven’t had nearly enough time to blog hop as I’d like, so I figured I’d just share some pictures.

Here’s my Xmas tree with some presents underneath:

Here’s my cool dining room table decorations. Of course it doesn’t look like this anymore. Now it’s a bunch of boxes and crap on top. But I LOVE my new red candle sticks!

I’m heading off to the inlaws tomorrow morning where we’ll be having Xmas 2 on Sunday evening. And then presumably we’ll be spending the evening playing games and watching TV.

I think I’m leaving the laptop behind but I’ll try to find more pics to post over the next few days.

What’s everyone else doing?

Catching up

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

There’s a lot of catching up to do this time of year.

I quite honestly feel like I’m just finishing stuff that should have been done over the summer. And I pretty much only have 2 days left in the year (today and tomorrow) because then I’m off to the inlaws for Xmas 2.

Do you think I’m going to be catching up today? Hell no, I’m heading to the mall!! Yes, again.

(Bath & Body Works Semi Annual Sale anyone?)

Of course, it’d be nice if I did a little bit of writing, but…And I’ve started catching up on my blog hopping even if I haven’t commented.

What’s everyone else up to? Have any major things that need to be finished before the end of the year?

Long Trip

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

I had a GREAT time with my friend and her baby last night (even though baby was a little cranky).

I’ve got a long car trip ahead of me today but I’ll try to check in with everyone by this evening (if not, maybe tomorrow).

And it snowed. A little bit. While I was driving last night. But this morning there’s a definite dusting on my moms deck and on the dirt around the trees and stuff. None on the grass and hopefully none of the car, but it does make me feel a bit more wintry - now that Xmas is over, lol.

I’m still waiting to hear about mroe Christmases (Christmasii?)!!

The day after…

It’s time to shop!!

I can see the mall from the guestroom window at my mom’s house. LOL!!

We’ll shop for a little while (the only thing I’m in search of today is a bargain) and then this afternoon we’re going to see my high school friend and her itty-bitty baby. I’m so excited!! This will be the first time I meet the baby.

We’ll do the long drive back across PA tomorrow. There’s a chance we might see some snow this afternoon, but otherwise there’s not a white Xmas in my neck of the woods.

So, what’d everyone get from Santa?

I got a lot of cooking gadgets. A garden gnome. Some Xmas decorations for next year. A few games.

Hope everyone else had a great holiday! Hope you all had a great one!

If you’re recovered enough (and not shopping) tell me all about it!

The best Xmas present I could think of…

Naughty or Nice?

Which have you been this year?

I’d say I’m right in the middle, especially since I’m not very good at lying.

What kind of liar are you?

Rubbish liarOkay, so every now and then you have to lie to save your skin, like Sophie. But that doesn’t mean you’re all that happy about it–mostly because you know you’re pretty crap at it. Try harder: you never know when it might open up a whole new world for you…Read about Sophie in The Twelve Lies of Christmas

After Xmas sales

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

Who’s already as excited as I am?

The sales were already started the other night when I was at the mall. New York & Co, had EVERYTHING at 50% off (granted it was a mad house in there so you had to be really dedicated to find something).

I already got my Victoria’s Secret Semi-Annual Sale catalog in the mail.

And I’m anxiously gearing up for the Bath & Body Works Semi Annual Sale, too. Twice a year I stock up on all my bath and body needs.

Target had some really cute Xmas decorations that I’d love to get for next year.

And I could totally stock up on tins and stuff from WalMart. Not to mention next years Xmas cards.

At this point, I’m thinking that I might finish next years Xmas shopping by next week, lol.

Anyone else covet sales as much as I do? And if you don’t (this is a random question) what’s your favorite Holiday move? Me, I’ve totally been loving the sappy Lifetime ones this year.

Oh, and before I go, public service announcement: If you’re a member of Passionate Ink, don’t forget to vote for your 2007 board!
