There’s a little known phenomenon that when you’re driving in New Jersey, if you put your car radio on seek (or scan, I never remember which one is which) there is, at all times, either a Bruce Springstein or Bon Jovi song on the radio.

Next time you’re in New Jersey, try it. It’s true.

Why? Cause both of them are native Jersey boys.

So, when I moved to Long Island, I wondered what would happen. I know Billy Joel is from on Long Island. Is there a Billy Joel Phenomenon?

YES!!!

Every time I’ve gotten into my car for the last week, there has been a Billy Joel song on the radio.

And this is the same station. I haven’t even done the seek/scan thing!!

Apparently Billy Joel plays here ALL THE FREAKING TIME!

Now, I’m down with Billy Joel, I admit that I was belting it out to Paino Man on my way home from Target, but come on…I don’t know that I’ve heard Billy Joel on the radio in YEARS before moving here.

Is there any kind of singer/band phenomenon where you live? Any locals that get played A LOT?
