Yummy!

Who’s starting to get excited about Halloween?

Me!

We bought our halloween candy last weekend. But then the hubster had to hide it from me (I made him). I was all like - I can totally handle having a huge bowl of candy in the house for more than a week. Uh, not so much.

We bought six - yes 6 - bags of candy. We’re new to this whole trick-or-treat thing as this is the first time we’ve ever lived in a house not an apartment. Still, the hubster thinks we need to go back and get TWICE as much candy. 12 bags of candy?!?!

Anyway (I admit, when I started this post I had no idea it was going to lead this way…) my favorite part about Halloween isn’t really Halloween itself, but it does lead to my favorite season–A SEASON OF EATING!!

Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Mmm-mmm time to gorge like a pig.

The hubster is already salivating at the thought of my yummy Thanksgiving dinner. Me, I’ve decided that I’m going to make homemade fudge for Xmas this year (last night I started naming all the kinds I was going to make - the hubster left the room shaking his head…).

And yes, I’m crazy, but I’m already starting to fret about Xmas presents (no, our Halloween costumes aren’t finished yet). Both what I’m going to ask for and what I’m going to get others. Last year, I had ALL of my shopping done the day after Thanksgiving - yes, I’m one of those people. This year, we’re headed into NYC on the day after Thanksgiving. Should be crazy. Crazy fun!

What’s your favorite time of year? Holiday? Are you stressing about Xmas presents already or do you do your shopping Xmas eve? What are you being for Halloween?

I’m excited. I can’t wait to bring my toddler out trick or treating.

Ohhhhh…..we’re alike! LOL My favorite time(s) of year is when Fall offcially starts until about April. I love the cold! I love the Christmas season! I Looooooove, love, love Thanksgiving!!!!

We lived in an apartment and only got a few kids, then moved to a house and got less kids. This year, we’re not putting any candy out! Seems the kids trick-or-treating dwindle every year!

    With Love,
    Tara M.

I never thought of it that way but yes…this is the best eating time of year LOL.

Ours are the youngest kids in the area of four houses, so there’s no big stuff here anymore. I used to live on a family street and we would go to countless houses! Have fun.

I too start thinking Christmas presents EARLY. There’s just too many between our two families not to.

Halloween, I can take or leave — though my kids are sure cute in their costumes.

Color me WAY stressed about Christmas shopping. I can’t wait till the kids get more excited over cold, hard cash than anything I could possibly buy them. It was so much more fun when they were toddlers and could get happy with the box, wrapping paper, and pretty bows, as well as whatever came in them. ;-)

I LOVE Halloween and this weekend kicks off my celebration. My mom comes Friday, Halloween cookie making Saturday, pumpkin carving w/ friends Sunday, all leading to trick or treating on Tuesday! Now our neighborhood gets no trick or treaters so we go to my MIL’s neighborhood, which is fun.

And yeah beginning of Nov I’m going Xmas shopping and hoping to be done by day after Thanksgiving. Already have the money/budget set up so now I just need to shop. I’m going to TRY and have a stress free xmas but we’ll see. I always seem to work myself up into a lather.

I love this time of year. I’m with Tara - beginning of fall to April, love it!

I really like Halloween but for the past few years it’s been quiet because it always interferes with work or something. One of these years I’ll get back into it!

My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving - my birthday falls on it every couple of years, tons of eating, family, and no gift-related stress (except I’m usually recieving b-day gifts so that’s cool).

Hey - just caught your challenge post at Word Flirts! Too fun.

I dread the Holidays. I love the time of year, the decorations and eggnog, the weather cold and crisp. But when most people are celebrating with family, our families stress me out. I think we argue more about our in-laws than we do about money or any other issue in our marriage.

My mom is a control freak, and so is my father-in-law, and they live in the same small town in East Texas. We’ve tried for years to drive all over the state to visit extended family, try to see everyone as much as possible - but we can never make everyone happy.

ANYWAY! :) I’ve found a friend’s neighborhood this year for halloween, where apparently, everyone gets competitive with decorations - should be fun! :)
