All about ME!!
I didn’t make my 25 page goal yesterday, but I did do 12, which I’ll consider quite a success.
I am kind of getting to the point in my MS where I wish I were a plotter instead of a pantster, but I’ve hit this wall before so I will just keep plugging along. My characters aren’t finding a lot of time to fall into bed though.
Definitely gotta fix that.
So, as you may know, I’ve been talking about redoing my website for about as long as I’ve had my website. And that thought is still lurking in the back of my mind.
I know this isn’t very flashy, but that’s me, not very flashy. And while I like the look of dark websites, I don’t want one, and that would be the logical way to go with what I write. So I’m stuck.
So, anyway, I think I’ve convinced myself to stick with the layout and fiddle with the content for the time being.
Both Shannon and PBW were recently talking about FAQ’s. While I’m not sure if I need one of those, I think my About Me page needs to be spruced up a bit.
What do you like to see in the About Author page? Pictures? FAQ’s? Do you like a long author bio or short author bios? What do you think it needs to include? What about lists of favorite things?
And if you like FAQ’s - Ask me questions!

Bios (long and short), but fun things! I’m not a girlie girl, but I love cute girlie things…guess that doesn’t make a lot of sense! LOL
How’s this: Tara M. loves girlie things, the real me doesn’t…hehehehe
Where in MD did you live before?
With Love,
Tara M.

LOL.
What was your first published piece?
What is your favorite snack food and movie to go with it?
What is your biggest pet peeve?
If there is one person in the world you could sit and talk to over coffee, who would it be?

I like your website - I don’t like the dark websites either and those are the most popular with what we write. Not that I haven’t seen some nice ones, they’re just not me.
I like Stacy’s questions. :)
And I don’t mind a long bio either as long as they’re fun. Not too dry. I should probably update mine…ugh.

I also love a good bio. I also like to see a pic of the author. I’m curious that way.

Pictures with bios are nice, but I also like to know things like where an author is from and if she’s married and has cats or dogs or children or whatever.
The best author bios I’ve read have been the ones that give quirky facts–Lani Diane Rich has a really great one in the back of Ex and the Single Girl. So does Nathalie Gray on the EC website.
FAQs are great–we want to know stuff about your books! Did any of them come from a certain inspiration–a song, a dream, a really hot guy you saw on the street? Who would play your characters in movies? Do you ever base them on people you know?
