Apples
Friday, October 6th, 2006Sorry I’m late blogging this morning. I woke up and had like a dozen things to take care of “first thing.” Well, there can only be one first thing and I’m still working through them.
Anyway, today I wanted to blog about apples.

I told you that I went to the apple festival a few weekend ago. It was fun and while there I had my first taste (this year) of apple cider.
Oh baby.
I love apple cider and without fail, every year, I drink it until I make myself sick. No joke. For a few weeks every year cider becomes my main drink of the day. Who needs to drink water when I can have more cider?
And yes, eventually I will find myself in the bathroom, praying to the porcelin gods, after having too much cider - and I’m just talking the plain apple stuff, not the hard stuff, unless it’s fermenting in my tummy.
So, lately I’ve been on my apple kick. I bought a huge bag of apples, the really small, really tart kind that practically makes your face turn inside out when you bite one. I’ll make apple crisp this weekend.
But while at the grocery store yesterday, I saw the greatest stuff. They didn’t just have plain old apple cider, they had cinnamon apple cider, and cranberry apple cider, and POMEGRANITE apple cider!!!
I was able to reign myself in and only buy the pomegranite kind (I’m a sucker for anything pomegranite, too, but that’s another post altogether).
So now, as I sit at my computer, there’s apple cider calling to me. Sigh, I just hope I get to enjoy it for a few more days before I make myself sick…
What’s your food/fruit of choice this time of year?
