It’s Monday
Monday, August 28th, 2006…the hubster is off at his first day of work. I’m alone in the new house for the first time, a little on the uneasy side.
It’s grey and rainy outside.
It’s days like this when I really like the fact that I write best with pen and paper instead of at the computer. I see the couch, a blanket, a notebook and a BIG cup of coffee in my future.
This house actually makes cool noises in the rain. There are gutters on the front of the house, but the back just has a sloped roof where the rain drips off making cool noises. There’s also not much attic to speak of (the roof if pretty much right there) so the sounds of the rain hitting the roof are pretty loud.
And we have a window air conditioner in the living room/my office and the rain echos off of that. It’s very hypnotic.
Uh-oh, I’m starting to think maybe I’ll get more napping done than writing!
What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods? What do you think is the best writing weather?
