My husband the meerkat

I don’t know if I’ve posted about the hubsters Meerkat phenomenon before, but if not, it’s time.

This happens probably several times a week.

You know how meerkat stand outside their burrows and look around frantically? Well, they’re looking for predators. I don’t know what the hubster is looking for when he does it.

We’ll be in bed, just about falling asleep. When all of a sudden, BAM, the hubster sits up in bed, looking around for any sign of danger.

I don’t know if he hears me move, or if its the apartment settling that wakes him up (Not that he’s actually awake when he does this). Usually he’s laying on his stomach so he’s not exactly sitting up, he’s pushing himself up with his hand. Which means the only place he’s looking for danger is the wall in front of him.

The thing is, he doesn’t just go back to sleep after this. He will continue sitting there, looking around. He only stops when I tell him to go back to sleep. I’ve tried to count how long he’ll actually stay there, but I can’t get past 35 seconds or so without laughing.

Then, this is usally followed by some very bizarre comment. The other day he flopped over to his back, looked at me and said, “Well now what do you want me to do,” kind of angrily.

I asked him to get up and bake me cookies. He just punched the pillow again and went back to sleep.

Ah, the fun of sleeping with a meerkat.

LOL! My husband talks a lot in his sleep, but it’s mostly work stuff. And he doesn’t pop up like a meerkat, just lays there and mumbles…

    I love meerkats - I think they’re so cute!!

That’s hilarious. My husband does strange things too, like hum and laugh. I often wonder what’s going on inside that head of his.

My husband falls off cliffs, usually just when I’M about to fall into that lovely deep sleep…it doesn’t scare me anymore but CRAP it sure used to.

That was one of the funniest blogs I’ve read in a while.

Oh my gosh, I’m sitting here unable to pull myself away from your blog. This is so funny. I think your hubby must be my hubby’s long lost twin. I just read this post to my hubby, who’s been sitting at his desk playing a computer game for twelve hours now…and told him I didn’t realize he was a meerkat.

    What a hoot!
