Spare change
Woo Hoo! I don’t have the most shoes. That honor goes to Karen. Congratulations. Email me with your choice of any book from my back list and I’ll send an ecopy your way!
As for me, I have 31 pairs that I’m moving and then I got rid of 7. Plus 3 pairs of slippers (which I wear more than actual shoes) and I had a total of 41.
And just so you all know, when I told the hubster about those of you with less than 5 pairs of shoes, he said, “well, why couldn’t I have married one of them?”
Now I’m starting to wish I would have counted books, too.
Although, when we move, I can get more books. I may not have a place to put them, but we’ve got money to spend at Amazon.
How, you may ask? The greatest invention ever made - Coinstar!
I heard on the radio that you can use the Coinstar machine to turn your coins into cash (okay, I already knew this part, but normally they charge 10%). HOWEVER, if you turn your coins into gift cards, they waive the fee.
Now, not all Coinstar machines do this and most grocery stores (where I’ve found coin counting machines) don’t actually have the Coinstar brand. But if you look online you can find the Coinstar machine closest to you that does the gift card thing.
The closest one to us was about 7 miles away (as opposed to the grocery store that’s 1 mile away). Since the first time we tried to take our coins there the machine was out of service, we actually drove 28 miles in order to not pay 10% on our coins.
But what did we get in the end? $150 to spend at Amazon (they also have Bed, Bath and Beyond and Starbucks and some other things too).
I now feel it’s my duty in this world to tell everyone about the Coinstar machine for their spare change!

Woo hoo Karen!
But here’s a question for your husband Emma - how many shoes does HE have? Even though my husband picks on me for all my shoes, I bet if he counted, he’d surprise himself!!!
That is SO cool you had all that change! I’ve seen those machines but haven’t used one yet.

…I didn’t see this, and haven’t counted my shoes. I know I can’t count that high. But I can tell you that I have two large boxes and a suitcase under the bed, plus two large drawers. plus the understairs cupboard, all full of shoes. Plus the odd pair hanging around the garage, bottom of the wardrobe, etc. I can also tell you that I have five pairs of pink shoes and eight pairs of knee-high boots (in current circulation, plus a couple of pairs that I love so much I can’t throw away even though they’re totally knackered).
Not bad for a girl who gets blisters from five minutes in flipflops.
