It’s too quiet

The voices in my head have stopped talking to me.

I’m not even dreaming now.

I’ve no doubt that it’s stupid stress from having the stuid move hanving over me, but knowing why it’s happening doesn’t really make it any better.

In fact, it makes it worse because other than the lack of voices in my head (and therefore lack of writing) I’m not feeling the pressure at all. Most of the non-essentials are already packed, or in their original packaging waiting to be put into a bigger box.

Pretty much everything else can’t be packed yet because it’s stuff that we’ll use sometime in a two week period (or at least, if it’s packed away will definately be used in a two week period).

So, I’m sitting here with my laptop open every day. With Word open even. Yet I think yesterday I wrote maybe 10 lines.

And they were of the:

“How are you doing?”
“Fine, and you?”

variety. Meaning - SUCKTACKULAR.

But, I guess it’s something.

I’d give up entierly and call it “refilling the well time” but all my books are packed!

So….

How does life stress show itself in your writing? Do your characters start killing a lot of people? Get really boring? Can’t write at all?

Emma, stress completely saps my energy, so more often than not when I’m feeling particularly stressed, the writing completely stops. Characters withdraw and the muse goes into hiding…

    CAN’T WRITE AT ALL!!!

Oops, didn’t mean to yell that. But when other things are going on in my life and I’m all stressed out, the writing comes to a halt. Sucks. And then I feel I’m trying too hard and then it really doesn’t want to flow. Ugh.

I’ve been going through that for the past few weeks (aack! too long!) but I’m finally coming around. Sorta…

LOL I hope your moving gets done soon!

I tend to find another outlet to create in. Be that knitting, gardening or creating a new look for my site. :) But then I have to be careful not to let that other outlet get to demanding and take over completely!

Total stoppage. I either don’t get to the computer or stare at the screen in a dazed huh?

Life stress = major creative outbursts. I do best when I’m stressed, especially at work. Those are the times when I feel particularly motivated to write! These past few weeks, no stress at all. And my writing? Mediocre, at best.

    sucktackular–Must. Steal. That. Word.

Stress differs with me. I either write nothing…or hit a major creative burst…

Major writing. When life is stressful I use the writing to vent. Of course, it does mean that my characters start doing really shitty things to one another, but hey…’Chase them up a tree and throw rocks at them’, right?

    Best,
    Bella
