ReReading
The restlessness from yesterday is continuing today.
I’m just having a really hard time getting my mind to focus on anything. That means, not only am I not really getting much writing done, but I’m not getting much of anything else done either - have I mentioned that I have less than a month to pack up the whole apartment? And we really have a lot of crap.
Anyway, I’m not getting a ton done, but when I’m in this mood I like to go back and read some of my favorite books.
The thing is, in this mood I don’t even really read, it’s more like skimming. I read some of my favorite scenes, but usually I can flip through a category romance in less than an hour this way and a single title in under 2.
Usually I start in the middle. Sometimes I’ll read the first few pages if it’s a book I really don’t remember. A lot of times I only read the dialogue, skipping all of the big blocks of text.
And of course I read the love scenes. *Sigh*
I find Nora a good one for doing this, especially her older category titles. Same with Jayne Ann Krentz and her older category romances. Full Bloom is one of my all time favorites - it just leaves me feeling all warm and fuzzy.
Anyway, even though I’ve got tons of writing to do and even more other stuff to di, I think it’s likely that’s how I’m going to spend a majority of my day.
Does anyone else ever do this or am I crazy? What are some of your favorite books for rererading?

You are not alone. I reread books, and yeah I’ll skip around and read the good parts (snicker). I love Nora, she’s very good for that. So is old Jude Deveraux. I found an old Katherine Sutcliffe book in a box in the garage about a year ago that I forgot I even had, can’t recall the title but it’s the best damn book ever! Aaah, I gotta go find that book and read it AGAIN!
Croco Designs did your cover? They did mine too…..

Don’t do much rereading but can say that every year I pull out Phantom of the Opera in the summer and sink into that.

I have a batch of books on my shelf that I pull out to read every few years. They are the first to be put in the ’staying’ pile whenever I get around to whittling down my load of books. None though are well-known except for the early Laurell K. Hamilton trio and some Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series.
