I wrote yesterday!
5 whole pages!!
It’s not really on the most urgent story, but it’s’ the one that’s coming so I’m not going to complain.
Unfortunatly, it needs a lot of research, which we all know, I don’t really like. Already, in those five pages I have a ton of XXX’s which is my code for “look this up and add appropriate info before submitting.”
But hey, it’s writing. And hopefully I’ll get even more done tomorrow.
In other news, I read on CNN that Websters Dictionary has released the list of new words for the next edition. Included are:
Google (as a verb) - I admit that I use this word very regularly - and it’s only the second trademark to be entered in the dictionary as a verb. Can anyone (who hasn’t already read the article on CNN) come up with the other?
Himbo - a male bimbo - I’ve never heard this one myself, but I do like it.
Mouse potato - a take off on couch potato - one who spends too much time at the computer. While I am one of these, I admit that I’ve never heard it before. Plus, I don’t know if the words distinguishes between those who work on the computer and play on the computer.
Also included were soul patch, unibrow and bling, among others.
If you made the dictionary, what words would you include?

OH wow. I’d thought unibrow would’ve made it a while back.

Neat! I like them - I’ve never heard any of those you have listed but they make sense all the same.

Did you know Google was meant to be googol–as in the really large number–but they spelled it wrong? True story.
I’d add ’squee’ since it’s one of my favourite words. And also ’shiny’ in the sense of ‘great’; as in “Shiny. Let’s be bad guys.”
As for the other trademarked verb… is it Hoover? I think that’s a mostly Brit thing.

F*cktard…..that’s what I’d add :) I know I”m shameless
I have no idea what the other one is–haven’t read the CNN article. I’m guessing Coke?

I’m still hung up on crapshack!

LOL, I never knew they did it that way. I’d want Yowza and mommy-dummies (as in forgetfulness)

Congrats on the pages! I was celebrating to squeak out about 3 last night.
What a fun blog - and look at all your books, wow!

Himbo is from Seinfeld - when Elaine was going out with a guy played by Dan Cortese (who I used to have a HUGE crush on!) His character, George and Cramer went rock climbing and he fell on his face and wasn’t pretty anymore.
