Friday, June 30th, 2006

OK, this post may make me sound like a complete moron, but well, I’m going for it anyway.

How do you pronounce the word “Nike?”

You know, Nike.

Is it Nike to rhyme with Like or Bike? Or Nikey to rhyme with Likey or Bikey?

The hubster says it’s Nikey. I always thought the name of the company was Nike (like Bike) but you wore a pair of Nikeys.

He laughed hard at this. And I’m not sure whether to beleive him or not. It’s certainly not like he’s a guru of fashion (he doesn’t wear Nike’s let me tell you, he wears shoes that cost no more than $19.95 from WalMart). But at the same time, he seemed awfully convinced that I was a fool.

So tell me, am I the only one not in the know in this situation? Am I the fool who though that a company name would actually *gasp* follow the rules of spelling and pronouciation?

What is it? Nike? Or Nikey?

What next?

I seriously have no idea what to do with myself.

I still have to finish up my edits on Fighting Fate, but my hope was to start another story while I was still doing that. Kind of get my mind working on one thing before the other was finished.

Uh, I got nothing.

My mind is one giant blank slate.

I hate this!! And really, it happens whenever I get into this “between manuscripts” phase. That’s why I usually have to start one before I finish the last.

I’ve got some pretty cool characters talking to me, but I can’t figure out their story quite yet. And this guy’s been talking to me for awhile now - he’s super suave, totally sexy, kind of on the manipulative side, yet playful. And oh, yeah, did I mention he’s the devil?

The problem is, I can’t find any faults with him (other than the fact that he’s the devil). He’s happy doing what he does so I’m kind of missing CONFLICT!!

And anyway, beleive it or not, I don’t think his story is going to be very dark so it doesn’t help me with the dark paranormal I have to write.

And then there’s Fabio. Fabio comes and goes in my mind. He’s a secondary character that you’ll meet in Secret Agent Man (to be released soon from VP). He’s an Italian secret agent with a secret in his past who loves his job.

He might be fun to work on, too.

Anyway….

What’s everybody else working on? Do you write more than one thing at a time? Do you make sure you know what you’re going to write next before you finish the last project? Anybody want to just tell me what to write about?

I’m freeeeee

Wednesday, June 28th, 2006

Well, almost. Kind of.

I still have to finish edits on Fighting Fate, but they’re mostly done on paper, just have to type them in. Actually, the story is a much more cohesive whole than I was expecting. Score one for the subconscious at work!

So hopefully today I’ll get the changes typed in, whip up a synopsis (ha!) and send this puppy off!

After that - nothing.

My edits for Secret Agent Man are finished (I may have one more go at ‘em, but I think that would just be for proofing, not sure). My edits for my August release, Hot Stuff, Torrid Teaser Volume 10, are finished and reviews are starting to roll in. I had to change the heroines name (and title) of my story in the Fall Fires Anthology but now Passion Burning is finished, too.

Which means, I’m free.

It’s super great to not have anything hanging over my head - I’ve had 8 releases in as many months - I think that’s enough to wear anybody out!!

But at the same time, that means I have nothing out there in the big, bad, world (well, technically I still have a MS at Hqn Spice, but I’ve given up on that one as a lost cause). I don’t have any sales to look forward too because I don’t have anything out. After the last 8 months, that’s a little bit scary too me.

Of course I can’t decide if I’d rather be a little bit scared or REALLY tired, lol!!

Anyway, I’ve signed on to be a part of a dark, paranormal novella for LSB (eek, this one should be HARD, but hopefully EXCITING) with a deadline of October.

I think, with the move and all, I’m just going to take it easy this summer. Work on my dark paranormal (what was I thinking, I don’t do dark??) and perhaps anything else that pops up. Maybe try working on more than one thing at a time and see how that goes.

I haven’t really had time to experiment with my writing in a long time so this should be fun.

Are there certain ways you wish you could write? Things that you’ve wanted to try but haven’t had the time/energy/opportunity/etc?

FIGHTING FATE IS FINISHED!!!

Monday, June 26th, 2006

Well, mostly. I’m fighting with myself trying to figure out if it needs an epilogue or if I just want to write one to tie everything up in a little bow for myself so I can move on.

But I wanted (ok, needed) to share this:

Title: Tempting Fate
Author: Emma Sinclair
Publisher: Liquid Silver Books
Publisher URL: lsbooks.com
ISBN: 1-59578-222-2
Reviewer: Tracey Snook
Rating: 5 Stars
Heat level: O

Tempting Fate is like a fantasy come true. Ms Sinclair
has a knack for drawing you in and making you feel
like you are the main character. With Clotho and
Tanner both being such realistic characters with
strong personalities, there are plenty of sparks to
keep you turning the pages. Ms Sinclair developed both
main characters in a way that suggested immediately
that they were made for each other. Tempting Fate is
an extremely erotic story that leaves you wanting
another taste. The plot is strong enough to hold you
in but doesn’t detract from all the feelings that the
characters are experiencing. They fall in love as well
as lust which lead them on a great sexual adventure
with some very realistic sex scenes along the way,
goosebumps and all! I am so glad I had the chance to
review such a great book as Tempting Fate and hope
there will be more along the same theme.

Can I just say I LOVE TRACEY SNOOK!!!

Not blogging again…

until I finish the last Fate book.

Hopefully I’ll see you soon. But perhaps, never again.

Happy Birthday Hubster!

Saturday, June 24th, 2006

Today’s the Hubster’s birthday. Only one more year before he hits the big 3-0 (although he told me this morning he’d probably just turn 29 again next year). Hey, that’s fine with me, it means I don’t have to get older either.

We have a fun filled day of watching World Cup, a trip to Ikea to see all the new stuff we can buy when we move, dinner at Red Robin and then X-men 3 (I’m not too thrilled about this last part but it’s not my birthday so I suppose I have to go along - even though everyone says X3 sucks!)

And here’s some birthday fun for us all. The first one is a cake and if I were a good wife I’d make him one like this.

For the gents:

For the ladies:

What’s everybody else up to this weekend?

Sharing the love

Friday, June 23rd, 2006

I posted him on my blog post over at Torrid Temptations so I thought I’d share the love over here, too.

Now no one can say that I don’t do anything for my loyal blog readers! Enjoy!

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

I have nothing to do today - well, I mean I have a ton to do today, but nothing actually on my calendar. That hasn’t happened in a really long time. I think I’m going to really sit down and try to finish the third Fate book.

Of course I got edits for Secret Agent Man yesterday so that needs to be done.

Hmmm, why is it so damn hard for me to finish this damn Fate book!!

This weekend is the Hubsters birthday. I haven’t gotten him anything (bad wife, but he’s not a good present getter anyway) but I think we’re going to go see Cars and then go to Red Robin for dinner.

Then on Sunday I think we might go to Ikea to look for furniture which we may or may not buy when we move to our new apartment, wherever and whenever that may be. Just looking though.

Anyway, it’s not looking good that I’ll really get much of anything done this weekend so I really need to work hard today and tomorrow.

But then I also have to watch soccer.

So much to do, so much to do.

Cheating…

Wednesday, June 21st, 2006

…with a meme.

I don’t remember who I stoll this one from, it’s been in my “emergency blog” file for awhile.

Supposedly if you’ve seen more than 75 it means you have no life. I’ll be surprised if i have seen 75, but I still have no life. And remember I’m the one who doesn’t really like movies. There’s an (X) next to the ones I’ve seen (a (v) next to the ones I’ve seen parts of) and my comments are in blue.

Section 0: 6 1/2 (what’s up with section 0?
(X) Rocky Horror Picture Show - Great, now I’m going to have the Time Warp song in my head for days.
(X) Grease - Nope, now the Time Warp has been replaced by Summer Nights
(X) Pirates of the Caribbean - And now we’re on to a Pirates Life for Me!!
( ) Boondock Saints
(v) The Mexican - A “v” is half an X, right? This is the one with Julia Roberts & Brad Pitt, right. I think I’ve seen part of it. Maybe.
( ) Fight Club - I’ve never seen it but I love to tell people the ending.
( ) Starsky and Hutch
(X) Neverending Story - Now I have this song stuck in my head!?!?! But how many people have seen, Neverending Story 2? Raises hand.

(X) Harry Potter 2
(X) Harry Potter 3
(X) Harry Potter 4
(X) Resident Evil I - I don’t like this movie. But my husband thinks it’s fun to watch because I don’t like it. There are actually several movies like this on the list. So i’ve seen it, but not necessarily because I wanted to.

( ) Little Black Book
( ) The Village

Short & Semi-sweet

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

Actually, the title of this post could describe me. LOL!!

Anyway, I’m back from New Jersey/Long Island - I’ll try to upload some pics to show later in the week.

Loving Fate released from Liquid Silver Books yesterday. You should go read it. Or my offer of buying and reviewing Tempting Fate and getting Loving Fate for free still stands.

I’m blogging at SEx today - it’s the Morning After and all about Loving Fate.

I’ll try to have more normal posts this week but I’m feeling a bit snowed under so forgive me if I coast through blogging for the next little bit.

Anyway, what did everyone else do this weekend? Any big plans for the first day of summer tomorrow?
