500 pens
It should be illegal to wake up with both a headache and a back ache. Especially on a Friday.
I think I may take the day off - but that makes it sound like I actually got something accomplished this week. And aside from the miriad of chats, I really didn’t do much writing wise?
But what did I do?
Well, I got 500 pens in the mail yesterday! Now, will someone please tell me what in the hell I’m going to do with 500 pens?
They’re cool though, Silver barrel with a red cap and red ink. The writing is black so it kind of matches my website and it doesn’t look like every other pen out there (I hope). And the writing on the barrel is nice and big so everyone will know it’s EMMA SINCLAIR’s pen.
Now I just have to, you know, give them to people. I don’t leave the house, who in the hell am I supposed to give them to? The Neil Young lookalike and Cletus the slack jawed yokel who came to fix the dyer vent yesterday?

That was like me yesterday-headache plus lower backache; what gives? LOL. Not fun in the least.
I’ll take a pen or two if they are for the asking.

*chuckling* I love your comments on the pens Emma. I have often wondered about this advertising stuff for when and if I ever get published. Like you I think - who in the world am I going to be giving those things out to? Other nine year old boys that play with mine? Ah, the last thing I want is a group of nine year old boys reading my books! Eeegads!

Find an RWA that’s holding a conference and begging for giveaways. They’ll be happy to get your pens! A word of advice–don’t do bookmarks. I just came from a regional conference in Scottsdale, and there were bookmarks galore. I heard several people remark that they either were going to throw them out or had already thrown them out. But pens are a great hit. :)

You could leave them in restaurants when you sign a credit slip? Let the waitresses have them? Leave them at grocery stores for the clerks?

My RWA chapter has a retreat each November and they always need stuff like that for goody bags. So, I’ll put some of them in there if you want! On a side note: I’m a wierdo. I have a tub o’ pens, I’ve had since I was a kid. I love pens of all sorts and I sort of collect them I guess. Even the normal kind. Ok, that makes me sound way too wierd.
