Knock on wood

I’m afraid to say this because it could backfire, but so far, April has been a pretty productive month.

Of course it could have something to do with the fact that the first few weeks are pretty much completely devoid of ANYTHING on my calendar - how exciting is that? (We won’t talk about what the end of April looks like though. Multiple things per day - it’s ugly.)

Anyway, I’ve gotten into this grove of editing, then writing, with some critiquing thrown in there.

It’s actually been nice and relaxing!

But, something else I’ve been doing is trying to catch up on my reading. Mostly I’ve been focusing on ebooks lately, but I’ve got a huge pile of print books to read, too.

The ebook TBR pile is smaller though so it’s easier for me to pick what I want to read.

So, what good books have you been reading lately? Inspire me to pick something off my TBR pile.

Hmmm, I just finished Hostage Moon by Emma Wildes. It was steamy and hot and just what I needed for a cool spring day!

Congrats on the new contract! That is totally awesome! (No, I’m not one of those highschool girls saying like…totally :-)

Oh the roller coaster of emotions for editing! This has got to be one of my number one reasons for loving these blogs - I found other people who write and experience the same things as me. And now my family can think I’m weird and pysco and I’m okay with that. “grin” I couldn’t have said it all better — the ‘I’m on top of the world and then I can’t write a word’ - absolutely beautiful! (Man I do sound like a teenager tonight! hmmmm)

The lastest book that I’ve read that I really like… well, its one of Susan Sizemore’s. She has totally convinced me that I’m shelving a good portion of my mostly written books in favor of writing a erotic, vampire romance! I think that says it all!

When you talked about the end of the month being ‘full’ - well, I really thought to myself - I’ve just entered that time period. Soccer has started, baseball has started, boyscouts need to finish badges up and camps need to get organized. Then there are family get togethers, tradinational get togethers… in other words even though its still only in the 30’s temperture wise outside - summer has arrived and I don’t know if I’m coming or going most times. I have to be in two or three places almost simultaneously and … somehow I do. “big sigh” I love summer.

Well, I believe that you wrote about more then that but at the moment that is all that is coming back to mind. Congrats on your contract!! And on the edits - I love the feelings I’ve had in doing my revisions - they have been painful but sooooo rewarding. I’ve so often found myself thinking - wow this is so much better! How did I ever think it was good before?! So I’m glad to hear your sounding that way too. Its much better then the alternative. :-)

    Have a great night!
    Cole

Ok, I do not understand this but maybe there is a limit as to how much you can write in a comment - it cut off the beginning of my message to you. ’shrug’ how knows maybe my computer is just acting up. I’d saved the message on the off chance it wouldn’t work as it didn’t at first for me - so here is the beginning of my message: :) Cole

Goodness Emma! I didn’t think I’d been so busy the last couple of crazy days that I hadn’t been by in days but… the NEWS I MISSED!!! WOW! - I’m so excited for you!

Ok, these comments are going to cover the last few days worth you have posted here - first to mind (their not necesarrialy in order but rather in my brain’s own weird order:-)

I’ve been checking out Vicki Lewis thompson’s nerd series recently. Pretty good. I’ve also been bouncing all around in my reading. I get fickled when I’m writing, so I never know what I might read. It’s a nice escape from plotting… even if it’s only temporary. Maybe I need to learn to read slower!
