Ah, the Princess Bride. *sigh* I LOVE this movie! It's definitely on my Top 10 list. :) I love Andre the Giant in this movie. He's just so sweet. Also Billy Crystal as the medicine man. Hysterical! I need to watch this again. LOL!

Hi Emma - I have it on DVD, but I did catch pieces of it on VH1 and AMC over the last couple days. Talk about nostalgia! Oh, the good old days....My brother and I grew up with those movies - remember THE NEVERENDING STORY, THE GOONIES, etc? Love all that stuff. Get all weepy sometimes when I see them because they remind me of those long gone carefree pre-teen days! Sniff.

BTW - you should rent/buy THE PRINCESS BRIDE DVD. It has cool interviews with the whole cast (even Andre while on set) and Rob Reiner gives some great insight to the making of it - so does the author of the book. It's a really interesting backstory. Definitely worth the purchase. ;-)

The Princess Bride is one of mine, too. I also love Gene Kelly's Singin' in the Rain and Spaceballs... because you can quote a line for Spaceballs that applies in just about every situation. :)

And I have to say "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father. Prepare to die." every time I see Mandy Patinkin on tv. We watch Criminal Minds, so I do it a lot. Drives Mr. Pink crazy, 'specially since he's never seen TPB. (I know! sacriligeous!! :) )

C'ann - I LOVE Some Kind of Wonderful. I remember the first time I saw it yelling at the guy that he needed to end up with the friend instead of the popular chick, LOL!

I've never read the book though and I'm not sure if I want to. I was actually debating that last night. Would it ruin the movie or make it better?

OMG! I was flipping channels and caught the last seven or so minutes of it. When Wesley was in bed and Humperdinck is telling him how he's bluffing and yada. Then Wesley stands and points his sword...OMG! I got goosebumps.
What a movie, indeed! I absolutely love it.
After seeing it, I had to get the book and read it. Then I gave it to a friend who loved it so much she did a presentation on it in high school. The good stuff lasts.

I'm such a sucker for 80's flicks. I love "Some Kind of Wonderful." Almost anything with the Brat Pack in it. And all those cheesy love triangle movies. OH! And "Sixteen Candles."
Oh man. I need to visit the video store.
