Oscar wrap-up
Monday, March 6th, 2006Ok, is it just me or were they pretty darn boring.
I mean even the part where they show all the people who’ve died this year, usually my favorite part, was B-O-R-I-N-G!!!
But, here’s some thoughts from throughout the evening…
I think Juaquin Pheonix is going a little too far as a Johnny Cash Lookalike.
Apparently to succeed as an actress in Hollywood you have to have an enormous head.
One of the cameramen apparently had a little crush on Michelle Williams because we saw her reaction to everything and it was always a blank stare.
I’m pretty sure that Jack Nicholson has a contract with the Oscar producers that says 1. he always gets the same seat in the first row and 2. he must be the first star shown on camera.
The beginning montage of past oscar hosts was the best part of the evening.
If one more multi-millionaire told me that I should go to the moves and see things on the big screen because it was “better” (aka they get more money) I was going to throw something at the TV. Kudos to Larry McMurty for plugging the “culture of the book” (and for wearing jeans!).
I don’t know why I watched the Oscars. The only movie I saw that was nominated for anything was Wallace and Gromit - nope, not true, saw March of the Penguins, too! But, they both won so that’s gotta mean something.
But here’s the thing - I don’t really like movies.
I find most of them boring and usually after I sit and watch a movie i’m upset that I lost 2+ (why do they have to be so freaking long anymore) hours of my life that I can’t get back. I have to be DAMN excited about a movie to see it in the theater. At least if I’m watching it at home I can do something else at the same time.
So, what’d you think about last nights show?
