Football
Sunday, February 5th, 2006I could say that I don’t give a good god damn about football.
But if I said that I’d get phone calls telling me that today of all days I have to care about football. I’m from Pittsburgh, football matters to everyone in Pittsburgh.
I heard that last week both Seattle and Pittsburgh had Rally’s for their teams before they headed off to Detroit. 5000 people showed up for the Seattle rally. I lived in Seattle for several years I’m impressed that many people showed up.
How many people showed up in Pittsburgh that day?
30,000. Yes, that’s 25,000 more.
Hell, I’m surprised that 5,000 people even know that Seattle has a football team yet.
Anyway, this afternoon I’m making a Steelers cake, yellow with chocolate icing and yellow decorations. Mini-rothlisBURGERS. Palamalu Potato Soup. Coach Cower Celery and Carrots.
So, I guess I’m rooting for the Steelers after all. At least my food is.
