Now, if I were an alien coming from a galaxy far far away to check out earth, and if I were to come at Christmas time and float around up in outerspace just watching American television, I would come away with one conclusion.

Every American gets a new car for Christmas.

Seriously, the number of car commercials on TV is CRAZY. And I don’t even watch that much TV, just a few hours of Law&Order (various brands) every night.

And there’s no cheepo cars. Apparently everyone is getting BMW’s, Infiniti’s and Lexus’s (Lexii?).

Onto commercial #2. The new coca-cola commercials with the penguins and polar bears. Am I the only one who is totally freaked out by that one?

If I were a polar bear you know what I’d be thinking? What goes well with Coke? PENGUIN!!!

I swear, as soon as that commerical ends there’s major penguin carnage. I actually saw it in the movie theather this weekend and it made me even more uncomfortable on the big screen. Perhaps because the last movie I saw in that particular theater was March of the Penguins.

Anyway, am I the only one disturbed by holiday commercials? Do you have any favorites? Any you hate?
