I love John Denver and the Muppets.

Seriously, it’s not Xmas until Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Scooter and Robin sing “Christmas is Coming” in a round. Or until the Muppet 12 days of Christmas.

I learned the other day that I was 2 when the John Denver and the Muppets, A Christmas Together special first aired. Obviously, I don’t have much memory of it, but I do know that I practically wore out the record - all year round. I was totally upset when the last record player broke in our house ’cause that meant no more John Denver and the Muppets.

Luckily, I found it on tape. You guessed it, I practically wore that down too.

I made a total spectacle of myself a few years ago when I found it on CD. You’d think the CD case were made of diamonds the way I reacted, but no.

Now, I have them in mp3’s on my computer.

It’s the only song/album/whatever that I’ve had in all three formats. Now, if I could just find the tv version somewhere I’d be totally set.

In other news, I’m absolutely thrilled to NOT be freezing my buns off at the Army/Navy game this year, though I will throw in the obligatory, “GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY,” here.

So there, I admitted it. I love John Denver and the Muppets. My favorite part of Xmas. You can keep your candy canes and egg nog and all that other stuff as long as I have Animal yelling “Run, Run, Reindeer.”
