I’m back
Tuesday, November 1st, 2005Did you miss me?
I miss Hawaii already.
But first, check this out!
Yeah, I’ve only looked at it a couple of times so far today.
So, since I’m bummed that I have to be back from Hawaii, I figured I’d spend some time showing off more pictures over the next few days, and contine making you jealous that I was in Paradise and you weren’t. And make me upset that I’m no longer there.
We got there on Sunday evening and it was already dark. We stayed at the Hilton Waikaloa Village Resort, which was totally beautiful and WAY nicer than we’re used to. Usually staying at the Holiday Inn is high class for us. The cool think about Hawaii is that not much is actually inside. There may be a roof over your head, but a lot of places don’t actually have walls. Such was the airport (unfortunatly no pictures).
We got to the room and promptly went to bed. I woke up early due to INCREDIBLY loud birds chirping. Hubster went off to conference it up and I went exploring. I walked all around the resort, and even walked a bit of a way down a lava strewn path (it’s kind of cool - everything is lava, ’cause you know, it’s Hawaii).
I had the a $20 breakfast and then walked around some more. (Yes, I actually spent $20 on breakfast for me. It was yummy. A ham and swiss omelet, hash browns, and toast with guava jam and pineapple marmelade and Kona coffee.) I wouldn’t do it regularly, but everyone deserves a $20 breakfast once in their lives!
I explored some more after breakfast and saw some flamingos.
And a Hawaiian green sea turtle.
The resort had a natural fed lagoon where a lot of the fishies and turtles hung out (I assume they get fed in order to keep them coming back).
There were some expensive shops down the road a little bit so that evening we drove down there (we rented a car) to look around. It rained that evening, but it was still nice. We had Subway for dinner (had to make up for my breakfast) and bought more sunscreen (although it was pretty much already to late for me).
That evening, as most when we were there, was an early one.
I’ll be back with day 2 tomorrow. For now, I’ve gotta catch up on my blog reading.
