The best birthday present ever!
I finally got my birthday pressent from The Hubster (only 5 days late), but it’s suck a great present that I don’t really mind it being late. Are you ready? This is going to show what a huge loser I really am - and I’m not joking!
He got me a new atlas!
Now, I have (had) a scrawny little atlas that I got at a library booksale about 5 years ago for .10. But I use it all the time. Every time a place is mentioned on TV, or a book, or conversation or whatever, I rush to get my atlas. Seeing as I got it 5 years ago and it’s probably at least several years older than that, obviously my info is a little sketchy. Plus, all it had was maps.
But The Hubster got me the National Geographic Atlas. This thing is practically half has big as me and it has all kind of maps. It has the standard topographical/political maps, but it has all kinds of other stuff, too!! Plus it has maps of the moon and Mars and other space stuff.
I sat last night after he gave it to me and flipped through the whole thing! I’ve had it for less than 24 hours and I’ve alrady used it so much that I’ve cracked the binding.
So there. Now you know my horrible secret. I’m a big nerd that’s totally in love with my new atlas!
What’s your secret nerdiness? Come on, I know everyone’s got an inner geek!

Yep, that’ s bad:wink: I’m so glad now you can correct my stuff when I get my geography wrong :)
My secret inner nerdiness…I love to play classical music. Love it! IT’s my favorite type to play. Although, I don’t know if that’s a secret for Emma, but maybe it is for everyone else.

Great present! Though I’m personally so bad with directions, no atlas would save me!

My husband got me a lovely anniversary present this year– Windows XP (I was still running on 98) and additional memory. I guess I’m a geek, because I was thrilled .

Ooooo! I love my atlases (yes, plural). I’ve got my world atlas, US/Canada road atlas, AAA Italy road atlas, Kenya road atlas, and most recently AAA Britain road atlas. I’m constantly hopping up in the middle of the night (while reading) to look places up. :)
